  • Himalayan Explorer

    This seven-night trip includes two days of guided walks through the Paro Valley – including a visit to ‘Tiger’s Nest’ Monastery. You will also witness a puja, or worship, in a local monastery, meeting with monks, listening to their age-old chants.

    You can choose to spend a day in the capital, Thimpu, or go sightseeing by mountain bike with an experienced guide. In addition, take a day trip to the remote Haa Valley, and have plenty time remaining to relax at Uma Paro with Yoga and treatments.

  • Land of the Thunderdragon

    From the gravity-defying Tiger’s Nest monastery to the temple of the Divine Madman, this is a seven-night journey into the ethereal world of Bhutan. The trip includes four nights at Uma Paro and three in two locally-owned hotels (both clean but basic).

    We journey deep into Bhutan’s heartland to explore three distinctly different, significant valleys – the bustling capital of Thimpu, the majestic rivers of the almost tropical Punakha/Wangdue valley, and the emerald fields and orchards of Paro.

  • Beyond the Sky & Clouds

    This 10-night package is split between the luxury resort of Uma Paro, and traditional hotels in the less developed regions.

    The adventure starts with an exploration of the bustling markets of  the capital Thimpu, before heading over the spectacular Dochhula Pass and following the Mo Chhu (Mother River) to Punakha and the Divine Madman’s temple, Chimmi Lhakhang.

    Our journey continues on through the Black Mountains past yaks grazing on dwarf bamboo, reaching the four valleys of Bumthang. We stopover in Phobjikha – an unusually wide, beautiful alpine wetland valley – and on to Paro to rest up at the hotel.

  • Bhutan Adventure & Druk Path Trek

    This seven-night active itinerary (four nights at Uma Paro and three nights camping) begins with two separate day walks in the Paro Valley incorporating such highlights as Taktsang ‘Tiger’s Nest’ Monastery.

    Then on to the Druk Path that has long been an important trading link between Paro and Thimpu, crossing the chain of remote mountains separating the two valleys.

    The trail goes as high as 13,800 ft (or 4,100 metres), along ridges, through dwarf rhododendron and pine, past small lakes and above the treeline. The final descent into Thimpu is via Phadjoding’s monasteries.
